Work Samples

A lot of my work focuses on workflows, decision-making, and consensus building. None of that lends itself to easily show what I’ve done. Below are a few examples of the work I’ve done that I can share.

Digital Events

Project for Awesome

From 2016 through 2023, I produced Project for Awesome (P4A). It’s a 48-hr telethon-style charity livestream started by Hank and John Green in 2007. What started as simply inviting and scheduling guests quickly turned into improving workflows, creating documentation systems, updating and training new staff on emerging streaming technologies, negotiating new partnerships, and leading a team of 6+ staff, 15+ guests, and 20+ volunteers.

This video recaps the last event I worked on, to view recaps throughout the years, check out my playlist.

CGA Virtual Events

In 2024, I supported the Creators Guild of America (CGA) in producing their virtual events. This recurring series focused on bringing members together to learn and understand different subjects relevant to content creators and influencers. I curated a list of appropriate topics, developed a sustainable workflow for event production, drafted copy for marketing materials, organized the technical needs for each event, coordinated moderators and guests, and delivered follow-reports to board members.

Build the Right Team Around You was my last virtual event with CGA. Click here to view my full playlist.

Video & Podcast Production

Hello Hayes

From 2024 through 2025, I worked with Alexandra Hayes on Hello Hayes, an advice column for the internet generation. I focused on preproduction work on the Hello Hayes video podcast, including cataloguing advice requests, developing content ideas, creating a production schedule, and optimizing options for season. In post production, I advised on packaging (titles, thumbnails, social posts) and suggested standard practices, like adding subtitles.

ICG Creator Chats

The Internet Creators’ Guild (not to be confused with the above CGA) was an organization founded by Hank Green in 2016 as an attempt to gather online creators together to work towards common causes. From 2017-2019, I produced their podcast, ICG Creator Chats, where Hank Green would interview creators from different parts of the internet and debrief with the organization’s director. I developed the schedule of guests, had invites sent out, connected guests using Zencastr, and coordinated with our editor to ensure uploads.

Crash Course: Sociology

My work at Complexly is vast. I worked there over 7.5 years and most of my projects were only known to staff who benefitted from better work life. There were many productions I supported in different ways, but one of my favorites was script supervising on Crash Course: Sociology. On such a small team, the job wasn’t just making sure the script matched the words. I collaborated on conversations about phrasing and perception regarding delicate topics, like gender, race, and poverty.
